I'm not Nickole, but we've had that happen too. I just scrape it off and use it. However I decided not to make so much at a time so it gets used up before that happens.

Has anyone had any success making this without the fish sauce? What if you were to use Bragg's Liquid Amino's instead?
Also, where do you get whey?

I don't use fish sauce at all anymore. Just tomato, apple cider or white wine vinegar, onions, organic sugar, and a little spice.
