Horsetail/shavegrass for a separating nail?
« on: October 19, 2011, 03:57:03 PM »
DSD has a fingernail that seems to be separating from the nail bed.  Doctor does not know why.  There isn't an infection.  I thought maybe she could use horsetail/shavegrass because it's good for nails.  In researching this I read where pregnant women should not use it.  She is a nursing mother.  Would you recommend that she not use it or do you think that it would be okay?  Or are there any other suggestions?  Thanks!

My dh had a toenail that was separating from the nail bed.  It is growing properly (attached) now, after dh recently had his mercury fillings removed.  So we think the toenail was detaching because of mercury toxicity.  Does your dsd have mercury (amalgam) fillings?

Sorry, I don't know about the herbs you mentioned.
