Making and/or Using Black Salve
« on: January 29, 2010, 06:28:54 AM »
Just wondering if anyone here has used or made a black salve. I have a recipe for it using activated charcoal and tea tree oil and a few other ingredients. I was thinking of using it on some plantar warts that I have had for 4 years. Nothing has made them go away. Ugh! gross, I know. Any thoughts? Tips? I am happy to share the recipe if you like.

I've never heard of Black Salve.  What would you use it for?

There are many kinds of "black" or "drawing" salves, as I understand it.  Ingredients are key to its definition (and price).  It's supposed to help w/ various skin problems--areas malignant [cancer], toxic or virus related.

Mine has:  Tallow, Pine Tar, Chapparal, Red clover, Comfrey, Plantain, Chickweed, Mullein, Olive and Soy oils and Beeswax.

It's by Nature's Way, I think, and it wasn't that expensive--probably less than $12.

Wow, sorry I am just now getting back to all of you. I must have done something wrong, I haven't been getting any notifications.
The black Salve recipe I use is
Black Drawing Salve

    * 2 tablespoons bee's wax
    * 3 tablespoons cocoa butter
    * 3 tablespoons shea butter
    * 2 tablespoons of organic coconut oil
    * 1 tablespoon vitamin E oil
    * 2 tablespoons activated charcoal powder
    * 3 tablespoons bentonite clay
    * 5 drops essential oil of lavender & 5 drops of Tea Tree essential oil

I've been using it on the plantar warts now for a few days. Since they are caused by a "virus" I don't know if it will work........but its worth a try.
I'll check the Plantar wart thread....but wanted to post the recipe here since it is useful for so many things like acne, bug bites, bee stings, boils and more.
