Information about Triphala benefits and contraindications
« on: July 23, 2013, 11:02:21 AM »
I have been reading a little about Triphala.  I am very interested in its cleansing and curing constipation benefits.  I have read that one should not take during pregnancy and that if too much is taken it can cause too much cleansing or diarrhea.  I haven't read any other bad things about it.  I would be interested in knowing any information about bad effects of triphala.  I have read it is not addicting (like some things with laxative effects).  It is very high in vitamin C.  Here is the complete description from the Lucky Vitamin website:

Nutrient-rich Triphala (or three fruits) regulates, strengthens, tones, and cleanses your digestive system without stripping or depleting your body of vital nutrients. One of the oldest and most renowned herbal formulas from the Vedic tradition, Triphala is a gentle, nourishing blend of three certified organic fruits: amalaki, bibhitaki, and haritaki. High in linoleic oil and vitamin C, non habit-forming and safe for people of all ages, their Ayurvedic Triphala formula's colon cleansing action supports healthy digestive and gastro intestinal function while strengthening nutritional assimilation.

Organic India wants you to recieve the full benefit of Triphala! Their formula is made from fresh fruits harvested in certified organic forest; it is made of only fruit, no seeds, increasing potency. Triphala is the formula of choice when it comes to deep rejuvenation as it can be used to rejuvenate the digestive system, support healthy liver function, support the immune system, support healthy inflammatory response and as a tonic for overall health.

To call Triphala a mere colon cleanse is a colossal understatement. Amalaki, Bibhitaki and Haritaki are three of the world’s greatest superfruits with a proven track record of thousands of years. Bibhitaki is a 3 taste herb and Amalaki and Haritaki are two of the very few 5 taste herbs in the world. Used for thousands of years it is one of the most important herbal formulas in Ayurvedic medicine. It is abundant in antioxidants and has one of the highest concentrations of vitamin C and its cofactors including bioflavanoids.

All in one!
The Ayurvedic Triphala formula parallels the actions of: Probiotics, herbal laxatives, digestive and liver cleansers. Taken daily, your body will experience the great benefits of Triphala on multiple levels-and due to its high vitamin content, Organic India's Triphala formula works well as a food supplement to your diet. Used for thousands of years in India, Ayurvedic Triphala has established itself among natural healers. If your system is in need of rebalancing, this is an excellent remedy: the three fruits that make up Triphala are said to address the three humors of the body, creating internal harmony. And of course, all Triphala capsules in every bottle are filled with 100% organic herbs, harvested with respect for Mother Earth. Buy Triphala today to start feeling healthy, regular, and light as a feather!

Why is Organic India Triphala superior?
Organic India trains tribals in Central India to sustainably wildcraft forest Triphala fruits, they do not use the less potent cultivated Amla. They also only use the pure and potent fruit pulp and not the toxic seeds.
