: Decoction Tea Questions
: 1happygal August 05, 2006, 02:57:06 PM
I made an herbal tea using the decoction method today. It included burdock, yellow dock and dandelion roots. I made my first two cups by the method described in The How To Herb Book (p. 234).

My questions are...
1.  How many times can you use the roots for the tea (2 cups, 3 cups or more?)?
2.  Is there another method to use for decoction? (I used about 2 T. of the roots combined to 1 cup of water, gently boiled for 20 minutes, strained, then did the process again for 2 total cups of tea)

I do not want to waste "good" roots if they are still able to be used. In the same respect I do not want to boil "used-up" roots and not get the potency needed for my tea.

Thanks for any input   :)
