Lipbalm, Salve & Ointment Making Supplies
« on: February 16, 2007, 07:58:03 AM »
Oh, that's perfect!  Thanks!! ;D  Where do you get the beeswax and containers to put it in?

I bought both at my local health food store.  But each store is different.  I think there is a thread somewhere that has different places for beeswax:

Thought of an idea "outside the box" again and wondered if anyone had any cautions against it:

Sometimes it is much safer "outside" of the box! Ha ha!
I think it is a great idea, if you are making smaller batches.  But if you plan on making a lot to sell, perhaps, buying in bulk online would be better.  This site advertises 100 tubes for $44.00.  Not bad, I think.

I buy those twist-up containers really cheap (because they are reusable)  at mountainroseherbs.com.       I just have to make my lip balm a little thicket when I use these containers and a little softer when I use the tins or jars.    ~L

Here is a link to Glory Bee. They sell all kinds of supplies a homemade bath and body business person could use. That is where I get my supplies. :D

I just received an order from SpecialtyBottle.  They had really great prices with s/h not too bad.  They also had great customer service.  They also offer the lip balm tubes:  http://www.specialtybottle.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=304

they have a great selection for things like that and their catalog reads like a book - an order is worth the catalog......lots of tea accessories too, strainers/bags, etc.

I just ordered 50 empty white chapstick tubes from Ebay for $8.00...with free shipping!

Thought I'd post it here.  I'm going to use some of it for making chapstick/gifts, and I'm also going to make a few tubes of salve-stick to carry in my purse by heating up the plantain salve I make and adding in more beeswax (thanks for that idea Mrs. B!)

This thread will be for the "where to find" all lipbalm, salve & ointment making supplies.  This will include containings, wax, oils, tints, etc.  Merging many suggestions from other threads here.   ;)
