These folks are cool, and have very good info on how to "get a good brew." Read all their material, and learn how to make the "gold looking" colloidal silver. It's not hard to do, and its so cool to actually see it happen. Its one of those... "Oh! How interesting! Look at that why don't you?" Type things...

In any case... if you are in downtown (any city) and need some colloidal silver fast... here's the ticket:

Buy the following items:

1) Bottle of the purest water you can get... distilled.
2) In a coin store or possibly a gold jewelry store get 2 ingots of .999 Fine Silver (usually 1 oz. each)
3) Four 9volt batteries.
4) Some cheap flashlight that uses a 9 volt battery and has a little wire harness that clips to the 9 volt battery.
5) Paperclips or alligator clips or even possibly bobby pins(?)

Once you have done it once... its really easy to remember (for me it was anyway). I could buy the supplies (about $40), and make Colloidal silver quickly in just about any small to midsized city in the world... that is a useful thing to be able to do!

On the other hand, there are a lot of quality Colloidal Silver generators out there in the $50 to $100 price range... and they are actually worth it!

Okay.. so I bought some colloidal silver from my doc awhile back.. (they always give a homeopathic remedy if wanted)..anyway.. we took it some.. don't know if it really helped but then I started reading some negative things about colloidal silver.. It made me worry some.. but not a lot since we didn't take very much.. (I even gave some to my infant).. I basically heard it can turn your skin grey if you take too much.. I don't know how this can negatively affect one's health, if at all.. But I was just wondering if anyone here has heard anything negative about it and if they have an opposing argument for the negatives in order to reassure me that its safe to take. Did that make sense?? Undecided

Read the links I posted... they cover the gray thing as well... basically there are two ways to make a colloid. One uses a fatty base... that's some people (two people, I think) get the gray coloring since the fats are difficult for the body to eliminate... It is this type of colloid that is used in the burn creams (please don't refuse the burn creams because of this... they work miracles, and you won't turn gray from topical applications!).

The molecular colloid is different. It is pure silver metal... no fats involved.

I am not saying that there isn't a way for the molecular silver to build up in your system, but I have never heard a report of this happening.

If it makes you feel any better, I have consumed gallons and gallons of colloidal silver Shocked

I've put it in my eyes, ears, nose... topically, internally...

...and I'm a nice sheen of steel grey... hehehehe... no, just kidding. I have not noticed any coloration differences.

Thanks for the links. I have been a skeptic of this for a number of years- ever since I have been involved with the Liberty Dollar (private silver currency). There have been a number of people that actually have used the Silver Liberty Dollars to make colloidal silver (they are 1oz silver rounds that are .9999 pure). It was a huge debate, and quite frankly, it came off really weird. Since then I have been tracking progress with the use of silver in other things like sports clothing to help reduce sweat odor, I thought I even heard of someone using it in shoe inserts- silver threads that is. Anyway, your simple explanation about the fat vs molecular colloid makes a lot of sense, and I will review the links you posted. I generally have a ton of silver around the house, being a real money nut like I am- it would make sense to be able to make some colloidal silver if I am convinced of its use- and I am more and more all the time.

I was told the kind of colloidal silver you buy makes a huge difference (if you're like me and don't have an interest in making it). It must be pure or you could have problems. I have given it to my infant for eye colds and also a few drops in his mouth when he was getting a cold. But I get mine from Nature's Sunshine. They test all their products and make sure that they are 100% pure. If they can't make a product with the right ing., and if they have to add fillers, they won't make it anymore. That is how important it is to them to make their products right. Most vitamins, etc. that you buy at health food stores have fillers in their products. They are not regulated by the government so they don't have to be 100% pure with their products. I get all my vitamins and my coilloidal silver from Naturessunshine.com. But I have to say that I am going to try the Supermom Tabs out.

Did anyone see this story and what do you think of it? I hope I got the link thing right. I use silver but only when I think we need antibiotics or something. The FDA of course says this isn't safe to use so it makes me think it probly is HA. Just wondered what the experts on here think.

Here's a question: I've seen and read about these ionic detox foot bath systems which are VERY expensive. I've also been reading about making my own colloidal silver which is reasonably simple and inexpensive.

In one of the advertisements about a detox foot bath system the promotional blurb says: "This machine emits positive and negative ions as your feet are immersed in warm water. . . It is designed to remove toxins, heavy metals, pesticides and harmful chemicals . . .

I had a light bulb moment where I wondered if/whether a homemade colloidal silver generator wouldn't do much the same as one of these foot bath systems? (as it uses positive and negative charges as well on an alternating current) Huh

Of course, I decided to post the question here as I'm not yet ready to try the experiment myself. Anyone?

This can only happen by taking ionic silver solution, not colloidal silver. Also, you must take it without regard to manufacturer's recommended dosage:

I've used home made colloidal silver and I've never heard of anything like this man turning blue. I just saw this on foxnews today and thought it funny that this thread just happened to pop up on top today. Colloidal silver works wonders for ear infections.

We bought ours from a man in a church we visited many years ago. We used to have directions for making one. Gabe has a link much earlier in this thread with directions.

When I first heard about making/taking c. silver a few years ago, I heard that the British ate off of silver plates with silver-ware, etc. So much silver turned their skin blue and that's why they were called "blue-bloods". Don't know how true it is, but thought it interesting Cheesy

The warning I've heard has been concerning the liver. A friend who has been using the Collodial Master for 10 years was telling me that it can be toxic to the liver to ingest too much silver. He takes 1 T a week when he's well and 3 T a day for up to 3 days when he feels a sickness coming on. Hasn't had the flu (or the shot Wink

) for years. It's also a conquering warrior on MRSA.

I had seen other articles on the internet about turing blue gray after taking too much colloidal silver. I doubt taken in moderation would hurt you, but i don't think i'd be making my own or drinking lots of it. There's enough herbs out there, i think i'll try other things first.

I skimmed over this fast so maybe i missed something about this already but i have a colloidal silver maker. Its just two tiny little silver rods that have little wires that you plug a battery into and you stick them down in a cup of water. Its important that they don't touch for some reason. I cant remember how long they sit in the water. Im thinking maybe 20 minutes. It does turn the water a dingy looking color.

Does anyone know exactly how long it should stay in the water? I got this years ago and just dug it out the other day. Grin

My husband's uncle bought a machine once. They whole family was realy into taking C. Silver. The biggest result they saw was warts. The children with warts had a bigger break out of warts, then the warts started falling off! Those children have not had warts since. 2 of my boys have warts, so I bought some C. Sliver from the store. Their warts are getting bigger and a few more have appeared. I have heard that you can rub it on the warts, but I want them to come out and go away.

The family finally got rid of the machine because the one they had was not acurate. They would make some and it would be one #, and then the next batch would be another.

When I went to the health food store to buy the C. Silver the lady there showed me a less expensive bottle. The $30 bottles were TINY and thye had 30ppm silver. The bottle I bought has 10 ppm silver ions, was $24 and is 32 oz.

Now, here is my question. The bottle says"
ionic Silver Works, Pure ionic colloidal silver, all-natural immune support

I did not understand the above info about the different types of c.silver. Is this one safe? Thanks, CJ

Ooops, i looked back again and i saw something like what i have but without the little wires. Mine is really old..maybe 12 years. I just wonder how much i should drink and how long it needs to sit. I know this thing had to be cheap because an uncle was handing them out to family and thats how i got mine.

You could treat the one you have topically, by rubbing the c. silver on them 2 or 3 times a day. Otherwise, if you want to kill the virus (a type HPV if I am not mistaken) take 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons one to 2 times a day. It took about 2 or 3 months for the warts to go away they say. My 5 yods's (he had 2 to start with) have gotten a lot bigger, and 2 more have appeared on his hands, and he had one (I thought it was a planter's wart, but now I am not sure) on his foot but now there are like 7! My 8yods had 2, but one he picked out and pulled the root out....that was painful and really bled. Now his one is getting bigger. It looks different than before, but we had tried treating it with something else before and he had picked at it then too.

. Plus, it's more assuring to know that whatever was causing the problem must be gone since you didn't just remove it's symptom. But I think I'll try both in this instance; wash my hands with c. silver.
